Greatest Twin of All-time?...

Puckett of course comes to mind, but the quite Harmon Killebrew was no slouch...Blyleven was at his best for this franchise. Then there is always Rod Carew.

I am going to take the killer, Killebrew on this one.

Re: Greatest Twin of All-time?...

Jack Morris has a lot of quality years for the Twins too. I'll say Kirby Puckett, not only because he was a great ballplayer but in many ways he was the face of the Minnesota Twins franchise for a long, long time. If Ernie Banks is "Mr. Cub" then it's pretty safe to say that Kirby Puckett is "Mr. Twin".

When compared to the squeak clean Killibrew, Puckett's fall from grace does him in for me...I still take the Killer...

Killebrew hands down here. Seven 40 plus homers years and nine 100 RBI plus seasons. Six home run titles and three RBI crowns. MVP in 1969. 573 homers and 1,584 runs batted in. Carew is second and I even take Tony Oliva over Puckett any day.

Re: Greatest Twin of All-time?...

I am going with another personal favorite of mine, Kirby Puckett.

When does Santana start to get a mention?? We can't forget about Frank Viola. He was almost unhittable for the Twins.

Cool Re: Greatest Twin of All-time?...

I loved Puckett, but I would have to go with Rod Carew. He was the franchise for many years,a nd one of the best pure hitters in the history of the game.

Kirby became the franchise during his career, and led them to 2 world series victories.

Killebrew may be the player with higher moal value, but that doesn't win championships.

You may be right, Gotham, but by the time I started watching baseball, Killebrew's best days were behind him and Carew was the best hitter in the game, so to me, when I think of the Twins, I think of Carew.

I don't think we will get an answer to this one.
