Justin Morneau breaks nose

The Twins are starting to look like a Mash unit. Yesterday, first baseman and defending AL MVP Justin Morneau suffered a broken nose on a freak fielding play. According to the AP, "Morneau broke his nose on that freakish eighth-inning sequence, when third baseman Nick Punto caught a line drive and tried to complete a double play." From what the wire service says, the throw then "came zipping across the diamond, hitting the turf at the edge of the dirt and bouncing straight at... Morneau's face." He left the game, but the good news for Minnesota fans is that he had the nose set and plans to play tonight. Tough kid.
