Torii Hunter got hit in the head by a pitch early in spring training this year. It happened again today in the second inning. Kansas City Royals pitcher Zach Greinke came inside on a 2-2 pitch and Hunter took it flush in the mouth. He thought for a second about charging the mound and made a few steps in that direction, but than realized he wasn't hit intentionally and dealt with the immediate pain,Hunter was taken for a quick trip to the hospital to make sure he was alright and took three stitches on the inside of his mouth. Hunter then returned to the park with his usual wit and sense of humor.
"It was so much pain, I thought all my teeth were out. I thought my jaw was broken. I thought my nose was bleeding. I thought everything. I'm thinking about all this while I was on the ground. And now, it just messed up my pretty face. I looked good today and now I can't go anywhere," Hunter joked at his locker after the game. Hes rumored to still start against Detroit on friday..
