| Re: Twins keep it loose BALTIMORE -- Ron Gardenhire, manager of the Minnesota Twins, was fielding a question about Brad Radke's shoulder when he was interrupted by the unmistakable sound of adults having too much fun with a video game.
Many of his players were down the hall from his office, in a player's lounge off the visiting clubhouse at Camden Yards. They were playing "Guitar Hero," the PlayStation 2 game that was their diversion of choice in the empty hours before Friday's game against the Orioles.
They laughed, shouted, and played like teenagers at a sleepover. Away from the mayhem, veteran outfielder Torii Hunter rolled his eyes, smiled, and said: "These boys are crazy."
"They're trying to relieve tension," Gardenhire explained, in the tone of an amused parent, as he rose to shut his office door. "Such a tight group." Sounds like this team is loose enough to make a serious run on it...anyone like the Twins chances out there?...I am always suprised that this small market team makes runs at titles...the Royals should learn from them. |
