Your right, it doesn't take much. They might go after Love, but Mayo is the guy I want. They are supposedly seriously considering Mayo, Gallinari, and Lopez with the third pick and possibly looking at moving down a bit in the draft to take Love. Thing is you never know what is going to happen with McHale at the helm.

It has been argued that he is perhaps the worst GM in any sport ever, yet he has been on the job for 14 or 15 years.

Not so sure I'd like Mayo. They kid's talented, but recent events have me questioning his character and attitude.
He could wind up being the next Sebastian Telfair.

Everything you hear from people that know Mayo say that he is a good kid and a hard worker, that has put himself in a bad situation a few times and has done a few stupid things (no different from a lot of us here when we were in our late teens). I mean this kid has been hyped up since he was in 5th grade and I am sure some of that got to his head. I am not terribly worried about him.
