How long will it take Tubby Smith to coach Minnesota to the tourny?

but i think he's a jackass for leaving the kids at Kentucky after he stated how much he wanted to stay there

I'm sure that Tubby can and will turn around a team such as the Gophers. I can't blame him for wanting go. Such a shame to lose him. He had a good career at Kentucky. In 10 seasons, he led the Wildcats to the 1998 national championship, four Elite Eight appearances, five Southeastern Conference titles, five SEC Tournament titles and six Sweet Sixteen finishes. Not too bad if you ask me.

But all in all, it was the Cat fans that were too danged picky. He deserves better than what he got from Cat fans... And that's coming from a Cat fan.

I heard and read that he got that nickname as a result of his fondness for taking baths in an old utility tub as he was growing up.

Tubby is one of the best x's and o's coaches in the business. Recruiting has been his weakness, at least at Kentucky. If he brings in a staff of hard-working assistants who will beat the bushes for quality players, he should do fine. If not, he could have a brief career in the Twin Cities.
