| Re: Tony Gwynn Jr. to make MLB debut Tony Gwynn Jr. - yes, the son of the legendary MLB hitter - has been called up to replace the injured Corey Koskie on the Brewers roster. This is his first stint in the majors after hitting .305 with 2 HR, 35 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 86 games with Triple-A Nashville. So, think he'll be a chip off the old block?

| Re: Tony Gwynn Jr. to make MLB debut There's no way the kid will be able to match his father's production...very few (if anyone) could. However, he should be a productive member of the Brewers while he's up. Brewers have a nice young core of players, now only if their pitching could do well. |

| I think it must be tough on the kids and the fathers where the father was better than the kid. Tough on the kid because he probably feels he can never live up. And tough on the father because almost every father wants his kids to do better than they did.....Not only Gwynn but Preston Mattingly who was drafted by the Dodgers is another one. Pete Rose, Jr....etc...Brian McCrae was never the player his father was.....There are probably others... |
