Brewers cut Turnbow

The Milwaukee Brewers have cut relief pitcher Derrick Turnbow.

According to the Associated Press, "He had 39 saves in 2005 and 24 the following year, when he was picked for the NL All-Star team. But he suddenly lost his form at midseason in 2006... After converting 51 or 55 save chances at the start of his career, he went 0-6 with a 13.06 ERA from July 1 on in 2006 and lost his closer’s job to Francisco Cordero. Turnbow was 4-5 with a 4.63 ERA as a setup man last year." Is he done, or is there still hope his once promising career can be salvaged?

Re: Brewers cut Turnbow

Really he has only had one good season (2005), one slightly below average season (2007) and two horrible ones (2006 & 2008 so far). I mean he has a 3.95 WHIP, a .414 BAA:, a 15.63 ERA, and a ERA+ of 26!!! All that said, I think someone will take a chance.

Re: Brewers cut Turnbow

Somebody will pick him up, but his career should be done. He has a dead arm.
