Yesterday, Prince Fielder became the youngest player in baseball history to hit 50 home runs, knocking a pair out of the park in a 9-1 win over St. Louis. And he's definitely motivated - he wants to hit 52 and win the MVP award. Why? So he can stick it to his estranged father, from what he told the Associated Press, saying that accomplishing both feats would "shut him up... That's why I'm so passionate about playing. I don't mind them comparing me, but I'm totally a different player. Hopefully one day, whenever they mention my name, they won't have to mention his."

At this moment, better. But in the greater scheme of things, like if you're looking ahead at 2008 fantasy rankings, I think it's a push.

Yeah...the old man is still the old man...though he squandered a fortune...and some of it was on gambling.

From just reading a few articles, Cecil Fielder seriously has a gambling problem and squandered millions. I read somewhere (although don't know if it's true) that Cecil even gambled away some of Prince's signing bonus after being drafted.

It all depends on who makes it to the playoffs. If the Rockeis do and Brewers don't, Matt Holliday is a favorite.
