| Prince Fielder: All-Star, MVP candidate We've talked a lot about how good Prince Fielder could be or should be over the past couple of seasons, but it looks like the dude has officially arrived. According to the Associated Press, "At 23 and in only his second full season in the majors, Fielder leads the National League in home runs (27), RBIs (62) and slugging percentage (.622). When the All-Star lineups are announced Sunday, Fielder most likely will become the first Brewer voted in by the fans as a starter in 19 years." Not only that, but with his numbers, you'd have a hard time not naming him the first-half MVP as well. Can he keep it up?

| Re: Prince Fielder: All-Star, MVP candidate I like the Ryan Howard comparison. Very fitting. Big things were expected out of both of them, and just like Howard last year, we're now starting to see them happen for Fielder in 2007. It certainly doesn't hurt that he has so many good teammates producing around him, but those numbers don't lie - this kid has to be the NL MVP frontrunner heading into the All-Star Break. |

| Re: Prince Fielder: All-Star, MVP candidate Fielder remains hot - he hit his MLB-leading 33rd home run in yesterday's game against the Colorado Rockies (a Brewers loss, by the way). Fielder is hitting .284 with 84 RBI, 74 runs scored, and a .980 OPS as well. Is he still an MVP candidate in your books? |
