| Re: Big Ten Media Day Rankings At the Big 10 Conference media luncheon last season, the Wolverines were selected as the conference favorite heading into the season. However, Michigan struggled out of the blocks and finished with a disappointing 7-5 record while Ohio State and Penn State both cruised through conference play earning a split championship. As a result of their hard work last season, the Buckeyes of Ohio State have been dubbed by the media as the odds Michigan State and Purdue were two teams that could not live up to high expectations set for them in 2005, but are now looking to bounce back in 2006 behind coaches John L. Smith and Joe Tiller. Still relatively fresh at Michigan State, Smith is looking to get over the proverbial hump, and is counting on Drew Stanton to help get him there. "Going into spring ball I made a little bet with him that he couldn't go through the spring without throwing an interception- which he did [successfully]," recalled Smith. "We're trying to have Drew get a little. So how much stock can you place on Media Day Rankings?...Seems like they got it wrong with a lot of teams last year. And what can we expect from Michigan? how much have they improved from being a 7-5 team a year ago? |

| Re: Big Ten Media Day Rankings How in the world did they rank Michigan as the conference favorite when the national media has OSU as a BCS title contender? I don't think you can put stock in a prediction that's this blatantly wrong; whether or not the Wolverines can win the Big Ten isn't the issue, but are they the team most likely to? Nope.

| Re: Big Ten Media Day Rankings Just like every year, Michigan is overrated pre-season. They will lose at least one non-conference game, then an early Big Ten game, those two losses will drop them into the teens in the national rankings and put them out of contention (at least for the short term) for the Big Ten title. Until they rebound, in the midst of which they will develop some momentum, possibly even sneak into the top ten of the national polls, then play Ohio State and lose for the fifth time in six years, leaving them in some mid-tier bowl game down in Florida. Which, as recent history indicates, they will lose as well. |

| Michigan is overrated in the preseason? Howabout ohio state being overrated. Ohio state has yet to convince me that they can even hang in there with michigan let alone beat them. Every will be in shock when #2 michigan kills #1 ohio state(the biggest overrated team right know.) |
