Michigan running back Kevin Grady, a junior who was a highly touted recruit but has had a disappointing college career, was arrested early this morning and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Grady is the state of Michigan's all-time leader in high school rushing yards, but he hasn't accomplished much as a Wolverine. He had 483 yards as a freshman in 2005 but only 187 as a sophomore in 2006 and none in 2007, a season he spent on the sideline while he rehabbed from a torn ACL in spring practice.
With the starting tailback job in new coach Rich Rodriguez's offense up for grabs, Grady is expected to at least have a shot at becoming a starter this year.
Rodriguez released a statement saying, "I have been made aware of the incident involving Kevin by the Grady family. Once we have an opportunity to meet with Kevin and review the details, we will handle the matter internally."
