Should Michigan Fire Rich Rodriguez?

Could Rich Rodriguez be fired before he ever coaches a game like Mike Price was fired from Bama ? Rodriguez has gone from breaking his word to likely breaking the law.

Is this person really who Michigan wants to be such an influence on their student athletes?

Re: Should Michigan Fire Rich Rodriguez?

It depends on what the WVU investigation find, but... wow, it doesn't look good for him, that's for sure. Is there any actual discussion of Rodriguez losing his job at Michigan, or is this just speculation, Tuck? Let's just say I wouldn't be surprised if this obvious breach of ethic (and possibly the law) winds up costing him his job and his career.

The university believes he destroyed the player files for every player on the WVU roster before he left, as well as many of the files in the strength and conditioning department. More details in the WVU forum - West Virginia files missing

What the heck?...Why would he do that?...they did not treat him bad, so why go out like that?

...and does Michigan need this headache now?

Purely speculation on my part. I just couldn't help but think of the prestige of coaching at Michigan. Michigan is a fine university deep in tradition and pride, having a football coach with no moral standards and possibly committing criminal acts against the University of West Virginia just doesn't seem right to me.

He bailed on a contract one year after signing an extension and hasn't paid his $4 million buyout yet either. Real class guy, that Rich Rodriguez.

Re: Should Michigan Fire Rich Rodriguez?

The afternoon paper around here today mentions that some of the stuff that disappeared includes scholarship info and grade reports. Wow, if that's true, Rodriguez could be in some serious, serious trouble. Makes me wonder if he was trying to cover up recruiting violations or something, you know?

If he is indeed responsible for the files being destroyed plus his refusal to repay the 4 million he owes West Virginia his coaching carrer will be finished.

Have you acctually read the whole story Bears?

Re: Should Michigan Fire Rich Rodriguez?

Oh my goodness, Rich will not be fired and nothing will happen to him, they were his notes and he can do with them whatever he wants, this just looks bad on WVU's part, WVU should be grateful because rich put them on them on the map, WVU is just bitter because he left..
