Michigan NEEDS to win this one. They're running Mike Hart against one of the worst run defenses in college football. Can they do it?

We already know that Hart can do it. The bigger question right now is can "THEY" do it ????

I think their defense matches up favorably against the ND offense. I wouldn't be surprised to see lots of pressure on Claussen. Henne's probably going to miss the game, so the Michigan passing attack comes in as a bit of an unknown quantity. If they have decent speed at wideout, they can definitely get past the overrated Irish secondary. It's just, can their backup QB put the ball on target? I think, as bad as Michigan has been, they've got to be the favorites in this one.

Re: Michigan Wolverines / Notre Dame

My first thought was who cares - but I reconsidered. The game is very important to both programs and their fans. Let's hope for a great game - one won on merit on the field.

I read somewhere that Michigan hasn't won since Bo died, Is that right?

Both Notre Dame and Michigan are winless in their last four games. That dates back to the OSU game for the Wolverines, and unless I'm grossly mistaken, that was indeed the weekend right after Bo passed. So it looks like that is indeed correct. Coincidence, or was Bo better at motivating these kids than their own coach has been?

It's the ghost of Bo pushing Carr out the door.....

Seriously, Michigan will probably win this one, if their defense can contain Claussen. And with all due respect, the Michigan D has been disastrous!! But they'll eek out a win in the Outhouse, 31-28.....

Defense won't have to work too hard to contain Claussen, considering he could get better pass protection from cardboard cutouts. Irish have no offense and can't stop the run, and Hart seem to be the only guy taking the field for either side who's worth a fig right now. So, yeah, Michigan will win this one.

Now, remember, we're talking about a Michigan D that has given up a whopping 147 points in their last 4 games. It won't be a walk in the park for them, by any stretch......

Do these schools have JV squads they can throw out there and make it a real game?...just asking.

Re: Michigan Wolverines / Notre Dame

Nothing like an awful Notre Dame team to make the Wolverines look damn good. 31-0, Michigan, at the half. Mike Hart has 134 yards and two TDs. UM is outgaining the Irish 217-53 in total offense, and 146 to (-2) in rushing yardage. Oh, and there's been three Irish turnovers too. Ouch.
