Greatest Wolverine of All-time?

Michigan's history makes for plentiful candidates.

Brady, Woodson, Desmond Howard, the A-Train, even former president Gerald Ford.

How about one hand pitcher Jim Abbott?

Re: Greatest Wolverine of All-time?

Wow this is a tough question. Anthony Carter is definitely up in the top 3. Then Desmond Howard who had 37 career touchdowns, 23 of which came in 1991 his Heisman year. His amazing catches day in and day also make him one of the greatest Michigan players ever. But the Greatest Wolverine of All-time has to go to Charles Woodson. Even with everyone hardly throwing his way in 1997 he still managed to pick off 8 passes including a great one-handed pick against Michigan State. He had a game saving interception against Ohio State and returned a punt return for a touchdown in the same game to clinch the Heisman.

There have been plenty of good Wolverines, players and coaches alike. Don't forget Fielding Yost, Dan Dierdorf, Bo Schembeckler, Branch Rickey, Barry Larkin, four-sport star Elroy Hirsch and George Sisler, all of whom are members of the Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor.
