Well, it was not to be for the Wolverines. South Carolina won their second consecutive NIT title, 76-64. Tarence Kinsey scored 21 for the Gamecocks and Tre' Kelley added 20 points and 7 assists in the victory. On the plus side, Michigan's Daniel Horton won NIT MVP honors and scored 18 points in the losing effort.
