Re: Fire Lloyd Carr!

Okay, so Oregon is absolutely taking Michigan to the woodshed today. Will this loss force Michigan's hand?

They gotta do something because what theyre doing now aint working, unless michigan has a huge comeback they will have lost 2 straight games at home..oh and they were ranked #5 in the begining..

They're not gonna win this game - that's all but out of the question. Whatever Carr was doing this week didn't work. His team is still sleepwalking out there, all except for Mike Hart, and their defense STILL cannot figure out the spread. Not only that, but they absolutely do not have the speed to keep up with these Oregon wideouts.

Re: Fire Lloyd Carr!

If Michigan shows no pride in the 4th quarter and continue to play absolutely poorly, perhaps Carr should be worried.

Re: Fire Lloyd Carr!

They should fire the bum.... The past is the past he simply has let the game pass him by. He cannot win.... he should do the right thing and resign now! Blame this season on your inept coach... Alabama fired Shula you should fire Carr!

Re: Fire Lloyd Carr!

Fire him, keep him, whatever. none of this matters. you think another coach is gonna make a difference? It's plain and simple, they suck. Another coach will not help. Nothing short of a miracle can help them. I dont mind saying i love watching michigan lose, especially to App. State. That game should become an ESPN instant classic.
They are hopeless and dont deserve to win when they play how they play. Their QB sucks, defense sucks, coaches suck. They need to let all their players go and start from scratch. Forfeit the rest of the season, start a new one next year, then maybe they can win a game.

As long as they've got Mike Hart, they'll win at least a game or two this year, probably starting next week against the Irish. And I disagree that the coach can't make a difference - they need someone who can get their attitude turned around. They were laughing and joking before yesterday's game. That's not the attitude I want my team to have if they're coming in as the first ranked I-A team to ever lose to a I-AA squad. I want them mean, focused and ready to destroy. Attitude is a reflection of the coach, and Carr's too laid back for UM right now.

Re: Fire Lloyd Carr!

Tom Dienhart of The Sporting News is reporting that Carr will not coach the team in 2008, but will not be fired during the season because "That's just not the M.O. at Michigan." Dienhart also puts together a list of possible candidates that includes Les Miles, Kansas State coach Ron Prince, Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema, Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Mike Trgovac and South Florida coach Jim Leavitt. Leavitt or Prince seem like great hires to me. What do you guys think?

I've always heard that they prefer to go with Michigan men, so I would give the early edge to Les Miles.
