| Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game The above is a great article by Mitch Albom, which so eloquently makes the case for Michigan over Florida in the BCS title game. As Albom goes on to write, "The truth is, Meyer is wrong. Michigan didn't have its shot. Not at a national championship game -- which is all the BCS is supposed to determine. And now it won't get its shot. Why? Because Florida is somehow a superior choice since it doesn't play in the same conference as Ohio State?... Meyer acts as if the SEC is Broadway and all the other conferences are summer stock. He talks as if you have to survive germ-warfare to win an SEC game (conveniently excusing his close scores against some lesser teams) while suggesting that other conference champs should be blowing out their opponents." Amen to that, Mr. Albom. To the day I die, I will always believe that the Wolverines got jobbed by the BCS.

Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game I could not agree more with these 2 post. I just hope OSU shows the sec what the Big 10 is all about. Could someone help me with what the spread was for the Mich-OSU game and also what was the spread of the florida-auburn game was. Thanks all

Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game Did everyone forget that Michigan struggled throughout the latter half of the season with unimpressive wins against Iowa 20-6, Northwestern 17-3, or the unforgettable 34-26 win over Ball State? I simply don't buy the argument. Michigan is a good team that had their shot and never really threatened the Buckeye's lead. Michigan played catch up all afternoon as their defense was ripped to shreds every time they needed to make a stop. Michigan played a schedule that only gave them 2 wins against any opponent of note. My guess is that those two teams(Wisconsin and Notre Dame) will lose their bowl games along with Michigan to USC. Florida is the most worthy candidate for Ohio State in the title game.

Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game Yeah, and Florida's 21-14 win against Georgia, 25-19 win over Vandy and 17-16 win over South Carolina were soooooooo much more impressive. By the way, Michigan beat the Commodores 27-7 in Week 1. Considering that was the only common opponent between the two teams, I think that speaks volumes.

Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game OK first of all I'm a TN fan, so it goes without saying I (except for this years BCS title game)I am a Gator Hater. Florida - Tougher strength of schedule Florida - Beat 9 bowl eligible teams Florida - Conference Champion I have nothing against Michigan at all, heck I like anybody that whips Notre Dame like you did. I just don't see how you leave Florida out. Michigan is great and will win the Rose Bowl. Congratulations on an awesome season.

Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game Because they cry and complain more than any other team in the history of college football. It really does not matter, because Florida will kill Ohio State and USC will destroy Michigan. Then the new thread will start "Did USC cheat in there massacre of Michigan"

Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game I agree MUCHFAITH, I think the Gators will roll(Hope so anyway). What kills me is when everybody thought USC was going to play Ohio State, it was fine. But Heaven forbid an SEC team playing in a title game. Everybody can say what they want but the SEC is sending 9 out of 12 teams to bowls. Go Gators,Vols,Bulldogs,Wildcats,Crimson Tide, Gamecocks, Razorbacks, Go Auburn Tigers, and Geaux LSU Tigers.

Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game I could care less which conference Florida is from. When Michigan ended their season, the Gators were ranked #4. If it was USC, Notre Dame, anyone ranked #4 at that time, and they wound up ranked #2 at the end? I'd still have a problem with it, and I'm not even a Michigan fan. Florida is overrated, and they have been all year. Everyone picks on the Wolverines for close wins, but Florida has them too, and Michigan won by a larger margin of victory against the only common opponent the two schools had. Yes, USC could well beat Michigan. Either one would beat Florida head-to-head. And the Buckeyes are going to absolutely stomp a mudhole in those precious Gators. That's my prediction, anyway.

Re: Why Michigan should play in the BCS Title Game They had their shot folks, they knew going into the game against OSU what was at stake. Win and your in. Plain and simple. Florida is 12-1 with the toughest schedule in the nation(not my opinion : FACT) and their overrated? PUHLEEEEEZ!! Take away 2 bad snaps in the OSU/Mich game, and is this one even close? Again, Michigan is a great team, but how do put them in the NC game over a team with a better record, conference champion, better record vs. ranked teams, and #1 SOS?
