Drew Stanton 50-1 Heisman Odds

One of the better quarterbacks in the nation is Stanton. He led the Spartans last year in defeating the Irish, albeit in overtime. Stanton is a fifth-year senior which should mean he knows the offense like the back of his hand. He also has a chance to leave school as the conference's most accurate passer. Throw that all together and he should be the Spartan's leading candidate in the Heisman race but will he have the numbers to compete with "those other QBs" at Notre Dame and Ohio State ?

no...what will do him in, is the puke green Uniforms that the Spartans wear...its just not SI cover good...or TV coverage good...its not even ESPN sports center good...its a really ugly uni...so...that alone will knock him out...

Re: Drew Stanton 50-1 Heisman Odds

Its going to be hard for Stanton to garner attention in a conference that also features Troy Smith, Chad Henne and Drew Tate, but according to Street & Smith, Stanton "was second in the conference in total offense at 310.5 yards per game. Stanton was also second in passing efficiency with a league-high 66.7-percent accuracy, along with 3,077 yards, 22 TDs and an injury-induced 12 picks." He had a broken bone in his wrist last season, but should be healthy for the start of the 2006 campaign. So I guess, don't count Stanton out just yet, folks.

Come on Lefty, you and I know that unless he starts breaking some NCAA season records, there is no way in heck this kid will take it...even at 50 to 1 I wouldn't bet on the kid...its got to climb to 250 to 1 for me to be tempted.
