Drew Stanton is gone, and the new Michigan State starting quarterback will be Brian Hoyer, a 6-2, 210-pound junior from North Olmsted, Ohio. Coming out of high school, Rivals.com ranked this is as a Top 20 Pro Style QB, and he seems to know that a lot's expected of him as he takes over for Stanton.

"Preseason camp is going to be big for me as I try to step up and establish myself as a team leader," Hoyer told the Michigan State website on Sunday. "Obviously, it was important for me to get the spring under my belt, but now, I have to continue to grow in this offense. During the spring, I concentrated on being a leader in the offensive huddle and now, I need to assume an even greater leadership role."
