Mark Dantonio looks like he is going to become the next coach at Michigan State. Does anyone else feel this is a bad choice. Is Mark Dantonio a good coach, yes. Has he done good things for Cincinnati, yes. Can he do what Nick Saban did for Michigan State, no! To me this is a horizontal move. As I said I think this is a good coach but not a great coach. In the tough Big Ten, I think 5 years from now there will be a new thread talking about yet another new Michigan State coach.

I like the move. Dantonio is a strong coaching choice with good recruiting ties to Ohio. I definitely think he's a better coach than John L. was, so there's now doubt it's a move up. The only question is, how much of an improvement is it, and I think it's a 3-win improvement right off the bat.
