Re: Michigan State vs Penn State

Just heard on ESPN that Paterno will coach from the press box. Looks like he wants a nice view of the ensuing carnage.

Re: Michigan State vs Penn State

Anthony Morelli threw for two touchdowns and the defense clamped down in the second half as the Nittany Lions overcame a sloppy first half to defeat Michigan State, 17-13 on Saturday at Beaver Stadium.

Trailing the entire first half, Penn State took a 14-13 lead after Morelli found Jordan Norwood for a 6-yard touchdown catch late in the third quarter. Kevin Kelly booted a 45-yard field goal with 4:28 remaining the fourth quarter to give Penn State (8-4, 5-3 Big Ten) a four-point cushion.

The Lions could finally breathe easy after Tim Shaw sacked Micihgan State quarterback Brian Hoyer on fourth down with less than three minutes left.

Penn State ran out the clock, and Spartans head coach John L. Smith's four-year tenure at Michigan State (4-8, 1-7) ended on a down note.

Re: Michigan State vs Penn State

It was a closer game than I expected. But the Spartans... man, the essence of underachieving. Drew Stanton was a very good quarterback, and Smith had some good talent during his four-years there, but could never put much of anything together. Where does this program go from here?
