According to the school's official website, "Former Miami Hurricane Lauryn Williams placed third in the 100-meter dash at the U.S. Olympic Trials, Saturday evening at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field, solidifying her spot on the U.S. Olympic Team."

In addition, two Hurricanes baseball players (freshman P Chris Hernandez and sophomore SS Ryan Jackson) have been named to the 2008 USA Baseball National Team, and University of Miami sophomore diver Reuben Ross will represent Canada in the three-meter springboard and 10-meter platform events at the 2008 Olympic Games. So "The U" will be well represented at "The Games".
