| Hurricanes NFL Draft Check this out. When the Seattle Seahawks took Kelly Jennings in the first round of this year's draft, it marked the 12th straight year in which a Miami Hurricane had been taken in the first round.
"The streak is unprecedented in football history," says Rivals.com. "The previous longest streak was eight straight years by the University of Florida (1983-91). The University of Miami's string began in 1995 when Warren Sapp was drafted in the first round. Since then, UM has had 29 players drafted in the first round of the NFL draft."
With that much first round talent, shouldn't they have been a truly dominant football program? I'm not knocking what they have accomplished, but it reminds me of the John Cooper OSU Buckeyes. Boatloads of talent, but always underachieving due to poor coaching. Same deal going on here?
Oh, other notable Hurricanes drafted: Roger McIntosh - pick 35 to the Washington Redskins; Sinorice Moss - pick 44 to the New York Giants; and Devin Hester - pick 57 to the Chicago Bears. What kind of NFL future do these four guys have? |
