Miami vs. North Carolina

Miami (FL) (4-1, Road: 0-1) vs. North Carolina (1-4, Home: 1-1)
Saturday, October 6, 2007, TBA

Miami travels to UNC this week to face off against former Canes coach Butch Davis. The U is also winless on the road in 2007. Anyone smell upset?

I smell it Lefty, I smell it!!!! I'm ready for Saturday. My brother is driving to where I live from Macon, GA (roughly 9 hours), and he, myself, and our brother in law are going to be driving to Chapel Hill for the game. I bought tickets to this game 3 months ago.

Maybe if I actually remember to take my camera this time, I will take some pictures.

Cool, if you do, I hope you post them here so all of us can see!

There's just something about this game that smells like a trap game for Miami, probably because of Davis and the team's road record. But I really think UNC comes away with the win here. I just have a gut feeling about it.

I like your gut feeling Lefty. UNC is hungry for the win. Davis is playing his old team. It's a home game with sell out crowd (This game sold out so quick that they have decided to put bleachers in the east endzone to allow more people to be at the game).

It's going to be great.

Re: Miami vs. North Carolina

Hey Cwstech can you imagine if UNC blew a 27-0 halftime lead. Well they are well on their way it is now 27-20 late in the 3rd.

Re: Miami vs. North Carolina

North Carolina 33, Miami 27 final. Close one, but the Heels pulled it out!

According to the Associated Press, "Brandon Tate scored on a long end-around in a spurt of 27 points to start the game and Connor Barth kicked four field goals to lead North Carolina past Miami 33-27, giving coach Butch Davis a victory against his former program... Anthony Elzy ran for 95 yards and a score for the Tar Heels (2-4, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who turned in a dominating performance to take a 27-0 lead at halftime then hung on as the Hurricanes twice rallied to within a touchdown in the second half." A win's a win, but WOW - this one had to be nerve-wracking for UNC fans!

Re: Miami vs. North Carolina

So I didn't get to take any pictures during the game. My camera's battery was dead and I could not find the charger to charge it. I would have gotten some great pictures from where I was sitting also.

Anyways, I don't know if they showed this on tv or on ESPN but there was a review of a play in the 2nd quarter when UNC was up 20-0. Well, they are playing some rap music in the stadium and the Miami defense starts dancing in a huddle like they are winning the game 60-0, along with the mascot and some of the players on the sideline, and their fans in the stadium. UNC is in a huddle on the sideline going over the next potential play. Well, one particular idiot (#81 Calias Campbell) for Miami is dancing around the huddle like a big dummy. The Play stands after the review and UNC comes to the line and runs a reverse to Brandon Tate. Campbell reads the play and moves to the outside to be met by the pulling guard who plows him over and Tate runs for 54 yards and a TD. As soon as the TD happens, the smart UNC sound techs start playing the same rap song that they Miami players were dancing too. Immediately the UNC fans (I would say 80%). Start dancing and screaming and pointing to the Miami players. It was so great to see the UNC fans getting into this game.

It was a great atmosphere, great weather, and a great win!!!
