The Miami Hurricanes football team kicked off their spring practices this week, and on Wednesday coach Larry Coker addressed the status of his team's running game in an interview with the school athletic department's official website.

With last year's starting tailback Tyrone Moss still rehabilitating from a knee injury, Coker said commented on two other players at the position. "Charlie Jones and Andrew Johnson have really stepped it up, and I see a lot of energy effort out of our offensive linemen, too. There's a lot of confidence and energy on the offensive line."

Moss ran for 701 yards and 12 scores last season. After he went down, Jones took over. He saw 10 games worth of action in 2005, rushing for 507 yards and scoring five times. Johnson, meanwhile, only had 14 carries a year ago. Both he and Jones are juniors, and Moss is a senior.
Seems like the job belongs to Moss once he's healthy, but who gets the carries in the meantime?
