| UM Baseball bounces back after slow start College ball started up last weekend in South Florida, to much delight, as the Hurricanes faced off against Mercer college in Coral Gables.
The 'Canes (preseason ranked at #2 in the nation) got off to a slow start, to much dismay, and dropped both games to the Bears (6-5, 8-5, game 3 rained out).
The 'Canes, who dropped to #5 in the national rankings, hosted the #11 UCLA Bruins for a three-game series this weekend, who looked to take advantage of Miami's less-than-stellar start to the season. But the 'Canes responded with solid pitching in game one and explosive batting in games two and three to sweep the Bruins (1-0, 9-8, 7-3).
Miami will travel to Gainesville next week to face the Gators (1-2).
Miami is loaded, on paper at least, and already talking about Omaha. If these two past series are any indication, then consistency could be an obstacle.
