Miami Hurricanes vs North Carolina

At the beginning of the year, would you have ever believed that the Miami Hurricanes and the North Carolina Tar Heels would have so much in common at this point in the season? Both are winless in the ACC, and both have coaches who are on the hot seat right now. Plus, this is really a must-win game for both schools. So who takes it?

Re: Miami Hurricanes vs North Carolina

If Miami loses to NC...wow, Coker should be fired on the field directly after the clock hits zero. There's no way on earth the Tarheels should even be competitive with the Hurricanes.

Miami takes this one big...28-10. For these Hurricanes, that's a big win lol.

Call me crazy, but I think I'll pick the upset - UNC 17, Miami 7. Coker is unemployed come Monday.

Re: Miami Hurricanes vs North Carolina

Not being a Miami fan, I didn't put much thought into what type of team they would have this year. All I knew was that if they lost more than 2 games, Coker would be on the hot seat! Being a realistic Tarheel fan, I held a small glimpse of hope that Carolina could win 7, 8 or 9 games this year. Deep down, I knew that was not going to happen...not with John Bunting as the Coach. Seems he is on the "hot seat" every year, and will be until he eventually gets fired (couldn't happen soon enough for me). Even on a down year, Miami has a better team than Carolina. My guess is Miami 40, Carolina 13.

Re: Miami Hurricanes vs North Carolina

Ah, Hokies64, glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Heels might be able to pull off the upset in this one. I can't quite put my finger on it, but Miami just seems like such a subpar team right now. Part of it is coaching, obviously, but the talent level seems lower then in past years, doesn't it?

Re: Miami Hurricanes vs North Carolina

You're 100% right Lefty in saying the talent for Miami is at a recent low. There's no way they can compare with Hurricanes of recent history. But I guess I wouldn't be shocked if NC pulled the upset...but I'm sure those in Miami wouldn't hesitate to jump all over Coker.

And if Hokies prediction rings true, and Miami can only score 10 points off of the Tarheels....wow.

Re: Miami Hurricanes vs North Carolina

Miami is a program on the decline. In spite of that, they are still way better than the Tar Heels.

Miami 31
UNC 10

Whoops! The Miami - UNC game was last week, desertrat. This Saturday, the Hurricanes are playing Florida International. The prediction thread for that game is located at Miami Hurricanes - Florida International game. Sorry for the confusion!
