Has head coach Larry Coker been fired by the University of Miami? That's the rumor floating around the Internet right now, just a couple of days after Miami lost to Louisville and fell out of the top 25 for the first time since 1999. I guess it turned out to be just a premature rumor. But we can all figure out that Coker will get the axe at some point...probably at the end of this season. I've heard Butch Davis' name talked about as a possible replacement.

Butch Davis returning to Miami? Well, he won... but I'm pretty sure he also ran an outlaw program. I'd hate to see the U go back to that. Say what you will about Coker's tenure, but I've never seen the Hurricanes program run any cleaner than this.

the rumor i have been hearing from my parents in NJ is the replacment that the U wants is greg Schiano. This makes sense alumi of the school, his first coaching gig was there, and he is taking a horrible program, and getting idiots like us to talk about how good the team is. I dont want to see schiano leave cause im rooting hardcore for the big east. but i think he would be the best man for the job

they were calling for his head weeks ago, and now with the brawl he will be fired for sure

he cant control his players and the season is a joke

I agree that Coker gets fired, but from what I hear, while a Miami player was taunting the FIU bench, it was the FIU players that started the actual brawl. Of course, that image of the Hurricanes player running in using his helmet as a weapon is downright frightening stuff. He could've really hurt someone, as in seriously.

What I was trying to say is that Coker and his team aren't entirely to blame for the incident, but nothing will save his job.
