Yes, once again the NBA will have Shaquille O'Neal and the Miami Heat play Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers play each other on Christmas. Yawn. It's the third straight time these two teams have met on Dec. 25 and quite frankly, its getting a little tired. Why does the league continue to beat this dead horse?

I don't know about anyone on this board, but this game has been elevated to giving and receiving gifts, eating ham and getting drunk as far as Christmas traditions are concerned.
And I do agree the league should try and distance themselves from a seemingly dead rivalry, but watching Kobe and Wade never fails too entertain.

So now that the season is underway, what do you guys think of the Shaq vs. Kobe matchup? Is it ALL for ratings or are these 2 guys really represent one of the best rivalries in the NBA?

And finally, how many of you will be watching the Kobe vs Shaq game on Christmas?

Yeah, its all for ratings, and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm bored to death of this supposed "rivalry". Neither player right now is as good as the hype surrounding them, and I'd much rather see Cavs-Spurs or Suns-Nets, personally. Do I plan to watch it on Christmas? Not a chance.

The network tries to make (oh, I mean "market") it a rivalry. The two teams could probably care less.

Shaq vs Kobe? Bleh. He won't even be playing by xmas this year.

Wade vs Kobe? Now that's more like it.
