Shaquille O'Neal has no plans to retire before his current contract expires following the 2009-10 season, this according to the Miami Herald. As Shaq himself told ESPN Radio's Jack Ramsay (as quoted in the paper), "I am the son of an army drill sergeant, and when we enlist, we go full term." So will he get the chance to finish out the deal in Miami, or will the Heat wind up trying to move him?

He'll make it that far. Whether or not he's still playing for the Heat would be the question. Many players have gone beyond their peak performance period. They just end up playing limited minutes and they watch their lifetime stats decrease. How much money is enough ??? Do the team coffers earn enough just by having them on board ???
