| Wayne Simien surgery MIAMI, July 5 – The Miami HEAT announced today that forward Wayne Simien underwent successful arthroscopic surgery of his left knee on July 3 at Baptist Doctors Hospital of Miami. The procedure entailed a debridement of the knee. The surgery was performed by HEAT team physician Dr. Harlan Selesnick. No timetable has been set on Simien’s return to action. Simien, a 6’9”, 250-pound forward, has seen action in 51 regular season games since being selected by the HEAT in the first round of the 2005 NBA Draft. He has averaged 3.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 9.9 minutes while shooting 46.9 percent from the floor and 85.4 percent from the foul line. In the HEAT’s 2006-07 regular season finale at Orlando he scored a career-high 10 points and also established career highs in field goals made (four) and attempted (seven). | Re: Wayne Simien surgery I doubt a surgery will help this first round draft pick too much, considering he's playing 10 minutes per game and averaging just over 3.0 ppg and 1.9 rpg. I mean, seriously... how long do you have to give someone before you can officially label them a bust?
