Miami Heat C Shaquille O'Neal has been named a starter in this year's NBA All-Star Game, despite that fact that he's only played in five games all season long. This is just further proof that the average sports fan is a bleedin' idiot and has no right voting for these honors. Shaq has no business starting in this game, wouldn't you agree?

The NBA All-Star Game used to be a highly anticipated event for me, bit I haven't watched one now in well over twenty years. The fans should not be voting for any All-Star team in any sport, it should go to coaches and players only. Shaq should give up his spot on the team to Dwight Howard.

Same here. Back in the Larry Legend era, I used to love watching the 3-point contests. But like you, I haven't bothered to watch one in years. The game, the slam dunk contest... it's all so yawn inducing these days. Guess I'm just not a fan of today's game on the whole, so maybe I'm not exactly offering an unbiased opinion here.
