Shaq knee injury

According to the Associated Press, "Shaquille O'Neal missed the Heat's game against the Seattle SuperSonics on Tuesday night because of a bruised left knee... O'Neal also missed Sunday's 107-98 loss at Philadelphia. He was injured during Friday night's home victory over the New Jersey Nets." Shaq's been a great player, but he's so injury prone these days. How much longer do you guys think he can go?

If they were wise they'd play him every other game and let him be stong for the post season pounding.

Re: Shaq knee injury

I have always felt that was what Shaq was doing on his own. He plays for a while then says he is hurt. I remember reading smewhere that was a rumor when he played in LA toward the end of his tenure there. He always says he will be ready for the playoffs. How can he not play through injuries during the season, but in the post season dominate?

Yeah. only so many games in the knees of a 340 lb player...and the NBA has the second longest season (the NHL is actually a bit longer from what I have seen in terms total days the season runs)...This isn't a skinny Bill Russell at a time few teams made the playoffs.

Cool Re: Shaq knee injury

He's going to have a lot of "bruised Knees" this year. And then when the playoffs suddenly roll around, he'll be fine.

Re: Shaq knee injury

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting that Shaq will play tonight vs. New Jersey. I wonder how his bruised knee is, and how much he'll be able to contribute for the Heat tonight. What do you think?
