Fins name starting quarterback

The Dolphins have named their starting quarterback. It is Josh McCown.
But wait, its just for the preseason. Coach Sparano assures that it doesnt mean he will be the starter for the regular season.
Coach Sparano says the depth chart at quarterback was done by seniority.

Well, Henne's a rookie, so we still don't know about him. And it's not like Beck's had a lot of help out there, you know?

I don't think it matters who's playing quarterback until they improve the talent around him.

Dilfer's better than some, definitely better than the guy Baltimore got to "upgrade" at the QB position (Grbac). But I digress.

I know McCown's good enough to win on a good team. The jury's still out on the two young 'uns, but McCown showed me he had a lot of potential on a Cardinals team that, while not phenomenal, had some good weapons on offense.

Ya they have a tough decision to make their. Not exactly pro-bowl QB's. However I do think there gonna choose a different QB to start the actual season.

Re: Fins name starting quarterback

I agree that Josh McCown should start since he's a veteran and would make a nice tackling dummy till Jake Long learns how to block. Then you can eventually get Beck in there as he learns from the sidelines. I think Tuna is going to put together a good team. Taking Long instead of a more impact player like a runningback was a wise decision because it shows that they are building for the future and not looking for quick fix ala NY Jets.
