How Will The Dolphins Cope Without Taylor

For such a long time, Jason Taylor has not just been the captain of the Dolphins defense...he HAS been the teams defense. Since Zach Thomas got injured and then was traded to the Cowboys, Taylor has anchored a pretty average defensive unit and his move to the Redskins is arguably something that should have come a long time ago.

The 6 time All Star is leaving a team with a new vamped front office, but ignoring all Taylors past achievements and what he did for the Dolphins organization...how will the new team handle losing one of their stars, at a time where a new Head Coach and a new Executive VP could bring some joy back to Dolphins fans??

The Dolphins won 1 game last season!!..... With Jason Taylor!! So what's the difference if he is there or not? Can't really get much worse and if you are gonna truely rebuild you might as well trade the big dog who has a year or two left for a few draft picks.... I think it was a good deal/move for both Miami and Washington.

Re: How Will The Dolphins Cope Without Taylor

im aware of their record last season...im not saying will they do any worse or any better this season, my point is how will they cope without one of the best, if not the best, player on their roster? how will their defense adjust without their leader? and how will the Dolphins organization as a whole cope without an icon like Taylor in their team?

It maye turn out being a good thing for the Fins. True, Taylor was a great player and a great leader. He was also the last of the team's old guard, pretty much. When you're coming off a 1-15 season, you need to make some radical changes. The only thing that has me scratching my head is why they waited so long to trade him, and thus wound up losing value in the process.

Re: How Will The Dolphins Cope Without Taylor

Someone else is going to have to step up and take his place as leader of the team (and the defense.) With any luck at all, the quarterback will be that leader.
Taylor was burned out on Miami. He wasnt going to be much of a leader anyway. And the differences between him and Parcells, never would have worked. Parcells can get away with pushing around a rookie, but no way a veteran like Taylor.

Re: How Will The Dolphins Cope Without Taylor

I think it will be a positive move for both teams, fins need help in more than one position so it should be pretty beneficial

The Dolphins dreams of Super Bowl glory are now in jeporady with Jason Taylor gone to the Redskins. The team had 1 win last year and barely at that!! They don't have a right to actually cope or do much of anything until they prove they belong in the NFL.

ok...so the dolphins only won 1 game last season, they lost 6 0r 7 of those games by 7 points or less. and 4 of those games that they barely lost by 7 points or less were to teams that made it to the play offs, how did you expect them to win when they had injuries left and right. went thru ronnie brown, ricky williams, lorenzo booker, gado, and cobbs. thats just the RBs dont even get me started with the DBs. so yea they are fighting thru the season, but dont tell me ANY other team could win in the same situation that the dolphins are in.
