McCown and his younger brother Luke were chopping firewood at their home in Texas when Josh was injured. It seems big brother Josh was holding the wood, and younger brother Luke swung the ax and missed, slicing the finger of Josh's throwing hand. Josh needed 6 stitches and has 10 days to recover before the start of Miami's camp.
The injury is not that serious but it could cause him to lose ground in the battle for starting quarterback.
This is the same finger McCown injured when he smashed it into a teammate's helmet in 07.

Well, it certainly won't help him. It stinks when these guys get hurt doing something like this. I'm sure some people will say, "He's an NFL quarterback. What the heck is he doing chopping wood?" But regardless of what they do for a living, a lot of these guys are just regular folk, and I'm sure they were brought up with this as normal behavior. Bad break... I hope the kid is able to recover and that this doesn't cost him a fair shot to start.
