Ricky Williams not worried about legacy

When Ricky Williams faced the media the first time this off season he didn't seem concerned about whether he will be remembered as one of the game's top rushers or one who puffed away a promising career.
He said he is worried more about the big picture, about setting himself up for a life post football. He is talking about going back to school, getting a job(a real job--his words) and raising his kids.
He is in his final year of his contract and needs to think about what comes after 2008.

Is he going to stick it out this year with out getting into trouble?
Will he be back after 2008?

No, it really doesn't sound like he'll be back.
It probably is best for him to get away from the game. He needs to focus on getting/keeping his life in order.

Dont want to get preachy here but-- what the heck I will get preachy. Up on the soapbox.
Money isnt everything. He says he wants to get a job, "a real job" , go back to school and raise his kids. Dont think he was ever crazy about the game of football. He was good at it, made good money at it, but he just doesnt have the passion some players have.
I dont think he will be back.

Jeepers, what a pessimist! Maybe they plan on raising the kids together. He will have a college education so hopefully he wont be flipping burgers. Its not like he will be destitute or anything. Some people dont care. They just want a life together. Maybe that is what is going on in this case.
Of course, it depends on how many Moms are involved. Hopefully just one.

But most "real jobs" are boring and unfulfilling. I dont see why you would leave an exciting job and the money.
