South Beach disapproves Tuna's handling of Thomas's release

The handling of the Jason Taylor situation is going down so well in South Beach. Apparently there are bad feeling over the Zach Thomas release as well.
Miami Herald Columnist Israel Gutierrez says that Thomas was released with no fanfare, only a few insipid comments about him from a man who had known him for about a month.
Then he goes on to say,"Considering this was the man who made more Pro Bowls than any other Dolphins defender, the man who cracked heads for the sake of the team so often that his started to give, calling that sendoff unceremonious would be an understatement."
He then goes on to implore owner Wayne Huizenga to soften any blow Tuna might deliver and to behave as Jerry Jones did in the release of Emmitt Smith. Jones stepped in to be sure that Smith left respectfully and said that he would always see that star on Emmitt's helmet. Today Emmitt is giving advice to the new running back, Felix Jones.

I guess you have to take the good with the bad. Parcells will rebuild this team, but he is going to hurt some people in the process. Not that he cares. I think he could handle things differently and get the same result, but like I said, I dont think he cares.
But thats me. Do you think it should be handled differently for either of these men?

Re: South Beach disapproves Tuna's handling of Thomas's release

Football can be an unpopular business. If dumping Taylor is the best thing for the team, it should be done. If not, they they should hang onto him. It sounds like they're only willing to trade him for a first-rounder at this time, so clearly they still believe he has value. It'd been nice if everyone treated each other with the utmost respect, but in the salary cap era, players have essentially become chess pieces to front office execs.
