Parcells told Sparano to say that Taylor wouldnt be attending OTAs, minicamp or training camp, even though its usually the player that announces that first. Taylor has not confirmed it.
No one is going to give him a first round pick for Taylor.
So what does Parcells have in mind then? I dont get it.
Pure ego...the man did the same in Dallas when he put Emmit Smith out to pasture.

I know what the Tuna has in mind, whether or not he likes Taylor he knows he is a good player, and doesn't want to trade, so he asks for more than he is worth, and if anyone bites he'll move him.

But bears, he has stated Taylor wont be attending any OTAs, mini camp or training camp. Taylor's value has just plummeted, any team is interested is just going to wait and see now and get a deal. Its like Parcells is cutting his nose to spite his face. It makes no sense at all.

I don't get it either. Personally, I believe if you're going to trade him he's worth at the very least a second round pick. Then again if no one is offering that much then keep him. He is under contract after all.

Re: Taylor may stay with the Dolphins

Parcells is a "Bully" like it or not he is setting precedent for the players and establishing financial controls. Nobody playerwise is going to challenge him after he makes an example out of Jason Taylor. The collective bargining agreement is out and Parcells gloves are off. He is going to jerk the leashes of a few players and agents. If you are a Miami fan you have to trust the process... example: Look at Dallas now back in contention because Parcells was wise enough to cut veteran players and make uncomfortable moves. It is paying off even though Parcells isn't there to enjoy his success.

Didnt think about it that way Stoney. You could be right. I'm really sorry its Jason Taylor though. I like him and Parcells is taking on the NFL Man of the year.

Hey Miami's loss is hopefully Carolina's gain.

Or maybe Parcells is right and JT's best years are behind him. Be careful what you ask for.

Clearly he's no longer in his prime, but I still think you get an every down player in Taylor, and one who can still make an impact on the game.

No doubt. And probably better than half of the DE's in the league.

Re: Taylor may stay with the Dolphins

He reminds me of Kevin Greene [past his prime according to the Steelers] yet he had a nice career in Carolina.

Not much. He's going back home to Florida to take part in a charity golf tournament and says he is still under contract to the Dolphins.

It doesnt seem likely that he will be at the teams mandatory minicamp. Coach Sparano had said he wouldnt be taking part in any team activities through training camp. So its still at a stalemate.
