Matt Ryan-Not all he's cracked up to be

You probably read how Ryan dazzled at his Pro day, completing 48 of 52 passes. But what you didnt read was how most of the 32 representatives of NFL teams left disappointed. Drafting a qb top 3 is a hit or miss process. For every Manning and McNabb there is a Leaf or Smith. If he is thrown in the fire in 08, Ryan will probably fall into the latter group.
He's not a finished product. Herm Edwards of the Kansas Chiefs says he presses a lot and labeled the workout "OK".
When he is hurried, he struggles. He is immobile, and hangs in the pocket too long.

Author of this article wants the Tuna to pass on Ryan, draft Long, and thinks he should pick up Brohm at number 32.
Agree?

What makes him think Brohm will not be gone by 32? If Matt is falling...Atlanta or Kansas might want Brohm.

Yeah, Brohm at 32 is a risk... but if they're not sure on Ryan, they should absolutely pass on him 1st overall. Why spend the #1 pick on a gamble?

Everyone is a gamble. You just gotta take chances

I disagree. If you're not confident in a QB's ability, you don't risk everything, including your own job, and pay him #1 overall pick money.

I like Ryan, I think he a top ten pick, probably even top five but no way I take him number one.

As far the risk goes if guess wrong on a QB at pick number one it holds franchise back just ask Tim Couch and the Browns or David Carr and the Texans.

Sometimes you have to take chances but its best not to do it on the number one pick. Too much money involved and there is some question about this guy.

Look, I am not saying that, I am saying they are nuts if they think a franchise QB will fall their way at #32...that is a stretch at best.

I believe he is saying the same thing Goth.

I have no clue why this person thought a franchise QB would be their at 32.

Does anybody remember a guy named Tom Brady. He was taken in the 6th and is a franchise QB.

I got from the article that he wants to target Brohm with their 2nd pick. I think he was saying their are options just as good later.

Yeah and Terrell Davis was a really late round pick as Curtis Martin went undrafted! I might have mixed those 2 up with their draft order but with Ryan disappointing the NFL scouts Brohm is now the top QB? This reminds me of how Matt Leinhart was supposed to be taken in the top 3 and fell far down to the Cards. I still say the Falcons will snatch Ryan if they can.

Re: Matt Ryan-Not all he's cracked up to be

they all should just call Jerry Reese up and ask him for his opinions.

in all seriousness, how many times have people come away saying how impressed they were with the likes of ryan leaf, and akili smith. Your telling me Ryan is not as good as those two. Something tells me Parcels knows more about the game then my fav GM Reese, the dolphins will be fine in a couple years. Just give it time.
