The new Dolphins front office wants concussion-prone quarterback Trent Green to come back for 2008.
Dolphins football operations chief Bill Parcells and General Manager Jeff Ireland have reached out to Green to express their interest in his return.


Dolphins want oft-injured Green back at QB

Trent Green is 38, and he is not at 100% yet. He isnt sure if he wants to return and says when he becomes healthy he and his wife will have to talk things over. He has done some work in the booth as a broadcaster and seemed to enjoy it.
They want him back but its not clear if they want him back as a starter or as a mentor.
I dont think Parcells would want him in as starter.
I say no how, no way should he even think about stepping onto a football field as a player.

What are they doing? They've got Beck, a recent draft pick. They want Green back and they want to draft Matt Ryan. And then you've got Cleo Lemon, probably the best and most reliable of the QBs currently on the roster. Any way you slice it, that's too many quarterbacks. Somebody's got to go, and I though for sure it'd be the overpaid, injury prone veteran.

The NFL should step in. That many concussions is dangerous. He should not play anymore.

I agree, i think lemons is the best QB they have right now, or have had this season

I agree. They should have their own staff neurologist or something that has to approve the return of a concussed player, for his own good.

I agree, the Dolphins may want him back but he doesnt need to come back, all he needs is one more good hit and it could be very dangerous, its not worth the risk..

He cant come back until he is cleared medically. Of course the big question is, after SHOULD he come back? And it seems obvious the answer is no.

The doctors should check Parcells out if he wants Green back, unless it is to be a coach or emntor.
