New Dolphins Head Coach

Who will be the new head coach of the Miami Dolphins?

There are several rumors out there. Here's the latest from Yahoo! Sports: "Shortly after coach Cam Cameron was fired Thursday morning, the Dolphins received permission to interview Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier for the team's head coaching vacancy the Miami Herald reported... Although Miami has not yet scheduled a date and time for the interview, Frazier said Thursday the team told him he would receive another call either Thursday night or Friday morning to finalize plans."

Cool Re: New Dolphins Head Coach

According to Mike Francessa on WFAN, who is friends with "Bill," He said Bill is considering a prominent college coach and a prominent NFL guy.

Francessa told his partner, Mad Dog Russo, that he knows the pro coach very well. So based on that, my guess is that the pro guy would be Jim Fassel, whom Mike and the Dog interviewed weekly, for years.

I have no idea which college coach he's talking about. But with both of these picks, your guess is as good as mine.

I haven't heard Tice mentioned publicly anywhere, but a good friend of mine knows Tice very well. That's where I got that from, but who really knows.

Re: New Dolphins Head Coach

What do you guys think of this report?

Dallas assistant Sparano interviews with Dolphins | ajc.com

The New Haven Register, citing an unidentified source, reported Saturday night that Sparano was offered the job and will accept it at the conclusion of Dallas' season. Sparano is a New Haven native and former University of New Haven player and coach.

The Dolphins met first with Sparano in part because he's off-limits for interviews beginning Sunday. He can't be interviewed again until the Cowboys either lose in the playoffs or reach the open week before the Super Bowl on Jan. 21-27.

Re: New Dolphins Head Coach

Sparano's name is one that's been very closely associated with the job.

Apparently Parcells really likes the guy, so this wouldn't be a surprise if indeed it really does happen.
