Through it all Thomas won't quit

The symptoms are back, those nagging concussion issues that have continued to cause questions about the future of Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas.
They're still keeping him out of full-contact practices. And they're still keeping alive those wonders about how long it will be -- maybe days, maybe weeks -- before both he and doctors agree it's safe for him to return for games.
But amid all of those questions, the All-Pro linebacker still has at least one answer that might be more important at this point than any of the others: This isn't the end of Thomas' storied career. He has no plans to retire. Not now. Not after this season.
''I plan to play here or play elsewhere [next season],'' Thomas said Wednesday, nearly three weeks since he sustained a head and neck injury in a car accident Oct. 21. ``I just feel like I'm going to give it one last shot.''
So why is any of this significant, especially when Thomas might still be able to play at some point again this season?
Why would Thomas need to answer questions about retirement when all he did was miss practice Wednesday because of ''migraines,'' according to the team's injury report?

Thomas refuses to quit
