| Holliday done for Year The Dolphins' run defense isn't just bad anymore. It is officially the worst. In a continued dive that has befuddled the players and perplexed the coaches, Miami has somehow fallen to the bottom of the league in one of the most important defensive statistics of all, allowing 33.2 yards per game more than the next worst team. The biggest problem? That wasn't the most disheartening issue facing the defense Monday. Defensive tackle Vonnie Holliday, one of the key players on the defensive line, has his right ankle in a cast after sustaining a fracture during Sunday's loss. Holliday will miss at least one game -- and probably two. ''He has had that injury before, and he said he is very positive that it will not be a long-term thing, but we will keep you posted on that,'' coach Cam Cameron said. ``He has been casted with a slight fracture.'' Ok, so maybe there was at least some good news Monday. Although Cameron has yet to make it formal, linebacker Zach Thomas expects to play this week after sitting the past two games with a concussion. Considering that many of the Dolphins' defensive problems could be blamed on poor tackling, it probably will help to have one of the best tacklers in the NFL back on the field. No doubt, the presence of Thomas and Holliday (who left the game in the first half) were missed Sunday. ''On the last drive, they weren't even trying to score,'' linebacker Joey Porter said Monday. ``They were just trying to run the clock out, and they were still running the ball right down our throats.''
