| DT Evans Arrested Charged With Battery Dolphins second-year defensive tackle Fred Evans was arrested early Saturday morning on Miami Beach and tasers were used to subdue him, according to a report on CBS4.com. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Evans, 23, was charged with battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and trespassing. Evans, a seventh-round pick last year, was expected to be in the defensive line rotation this year as a possible backup to veteran nose tackle Keith Traylor. Evans is competing for time with rookie Paul Soliai and Kevin Vickerson. Evans' arrest doesn't bode well for his future with the Dolphins, as first-year Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron has repeatedly emphasized his commitment to fill his roster with players of high character who stay out of trouble away from the field. "We are aware that Fred Evans was arrested this morning,'' Cameron said in a team-released statement. "We will not condone this type of behavior. I assure everyone it will be dealt with seriously.'' The police report said that officers were sent to an argument Evans was reportedly having with a taxi driver. Police said Evans refused to get out of the cab, and when they attempted to restrain him with handcuffs, he and police had a "physical struggle" according to Miami Beach police spokesperson Bobby Hernandez. The report states one officer was bitten on his left wrist and received several bruises, while a second officer received bruises to her left knee.
