Miami cuts TE Randy McMichael

According to NFL.com wire reports, "Quarterback Joey Harrington and tight end Randy McMichael were released by the Miami Dolphins... McMichael was due a large roster bonus, and his contract was terminated after Miami could not swing a trade for him." So the Fins have cut their starting tight end, signing ex-Packer David Martin to replace him. Your thoughts about the move, Dolphins fans?

Re: Miami cuts TE Randy McMichael

This surprised me. McMichael is a pretty good pass catching tight end. It's not like they have any great wideouts down there in Miami. He shouldn't have a problem finding a job. If Shiancoe can get he money he did, McMichael should get paid well.

Re: Miami cuts TE Randy McMichael

McMichael was a durable player never missed a game in his five-year career. His 80-game playing streak is the second longest by a tight end since 1970.My guess is Cam Cameron is cleaning house and putting his thumb print on his team as the head coach.

I think the Dolphin's made an even bigger mistake letting Welker go to there're bitter rival New England....young and talented.

Quote:
Welker, 25, who led NFL receivers and specialists with 156 touches last season, was eighth in the AFC with a 9.2 punt return average. He averaged 22.2 yards on kickoffs
Quote:
Instead of giving the restricted free agent a lucrative offer sheet and having to surrender their second-round pick if the Dolphins decided not to match, the Patriots probably saved millions by throwing in the extra late-round pick.
