Cool Culpepper traded to the Dolphins

...For a 2nd round pick in '07...Although we saw what Culpepper did without Randy Moss, I guess it's a no lose proposition for the Dolphins. What do you Fish fans (and anyone else who wants to chime in) think?

Re: Culpepper traded to the Dolphins

So I guess those contract talks with Brees went pretty poorly, then, eh?

Well, Culpepper's not the greatest pick-up in the world, but for a 2nd round pick next year? The guy IS a former Pro Bowler. Definitely worth the gamble considering they gave up peanuts for him.

Hey, the guy had one season without Randy Moss and he started it off poorly before finding his stride. Then, he got injured. I still think that Culpepper is a good QB whether he has Randy Moss or not. He knows how to throw a ball and I wish him the best in Miami. I really hope he can prove a lot of people wrong.

Being a Central Florida Grad, I got to believe in Culpepper for the most selfish reason of all...I want to get my school bame out there whenever I interview...that being said...man fans are fickled...two years ago we were mentioning him in the same breath as Peyton...all of a sudden he is way worse than Brees (whom I also like)...injury aside...he ain't that bad...Miami should count its lucky stars...only a 2nd rounder...that's a steal if he recovers well from injury.

Re: Culpepper traded to the Dolphins

ESPN was reporting that the 2nd round pick is for this year, not 2007. Which is true?

Re: Culpepper traded to the Dolphins

I thought I saw it was a 2006 2nd round pick, could be wrong though.

Sad to see that's all Minnesota could get for a guy who was once thought as one of the best QBs in the NFC.

Re: Culpepper traded to the Dolphins

I think it's gonna work out just fine... Culpepper has the size and strength to do well in this offence... and it's a home coming of sorts...

Welcome to GoTeamsGo, florida

Is this what a SuperBowl contender needs? A veteran NFL quarterback who knows how to win?

Re: Culpepper traded to the Dolphins

it is true that us dolphin fans have not had good luck with aquisitions(David Boston anyone) but Daunte Culpepper will turn the miami dolphins into a playoff team next year and a potential super bowl hopeful. daunte will be ready and with chris chambers and marty booker and with ronnie brown running the ball they could potentially run away with the division from the beaten down patriots

Welcome to GoTeamsGo, dolphins1

Big day for you guys with Daunte moving back home to Florida. What was the latest on his rehab? Is he supposed to be 100% pretty soon?

Thanks for joining us here at GoTeamsGo, dolphins1!

I agree that Miami is looks awful good offensively, but are you concerned at all about the other side of the ball? They've lost some guys and they're getting up there is terms of age. Think they go D in the draft?

Well, if nothing else, NOT paying 6 years/60 million for Brees was a victory in and of itself.

Also, only giving up a second round pick, restructing Culpepper's contract and ridding their cap of 4.5 mil by cutting Frerotte seems like a win-win.
