| Hey Saban, don't let the door... "The punctuation on the Nick Saban Error is greasy, dishonorable and cowardly. You know what he was as Dolphins coach? A failure. A loser. A gasbag. And one of the worst investments Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga has ever made." -Dan Le Batard, Miami Herald. ---- "Saban produced a third consecutive failed regime, behind Jimmy Johnson and Dave Wannstedt, and deserves every bit of comparison with the latter's ultimate ridiculous deterioration of the team." -Greg Stoda, Palm Beach Post. ---- "'Integrity' is out. 'Character' is out. 'Teacher' is out. 'Leader of men' is out. 'Liar' is in." -Pat Forde, ESPN.Com. ---- "His legacy? Quitting. His reputation? Failing. His final standing? As low as anyone in South Florida sports history." -Dave Hyde, Sun-Sentinel. ---- "Saban didn't accomplish much of anything in Miami,"..."I think he owes an explanation to everyone why." -Joe Theisman via ESPN. ---- "I like to have an effect on people." -Nick Saban, on his decision to leave the NFL in today's Alabama press conference. "I affected the team [the Dolphins] in a postitive way." Uh-huh. |

| Re: Hey Saban, don't let the door... For $40-$50 million you can add those labels to my name as well... Come on people its a job! Who would not take the ungodly sum of money that Bama was foolish enough to offer?... I am loyal to my company...they are loyal to me...but if I couldn't work they wouldn't pay my bills...and If I had an offer for twice as much, I would be shaking hands saying, "Have a good one!"... Any of those writers just wishes they could command the money elsewhere...they have Saban-envy... |

| Re: Hey Saban, don't let the door... Quite simply, because Saban was a hypocrite. He preached and praised his rhetoric and got absolutely nothing done - all the while reigning down upon anyone in the media who questioned him. Miami is obviously better off without him, but he undoubtedly left the program worse off, and BS'd his way out of South Florida like a coward. I'm sure you've read by now the stuff Don Shula said about him? And re: Wayne Huizenga, he is a businessman. He won't publicly hold a grudge because it only makes him look even more foolish for wasting two seasons with the guy. It's the latest in a string of sour investments the dolphins have made in the last decade. Quote:
Did you ever watch a post-game press conference with Saban? I did. Not many coaches act like that - even after a bad loss. He did it even after chalking up wins. For all the crap he spewed about integrity, honesty, and how most media-types wouldn't understand his "complex technical game planning," he sure looked like an ass in the end when he ran away from his failures in Miami. Answer me this, why didn't Saban hold a press conference in Miami? Larry Coker did. "The best way to disrespect someone is to walk away from them." -Nick Saban |

| Re: Hey Saban, don't let the door... Ah, don't get me wrong. I think he will experience success at Alabama. Was the school right to offer him that large of a contract? Well, I think that's an entirely different debate. Will they benefit from it? Probably. I don't think there are many people questioning whether or not Saban is a better football coach than he was in the pro's. What he did in South Florida will always remain a stain on his career, however. And the fact that he's coming out saying he's the one being victimized in the situation is laughable. |

| I think what Saban did was wrong but he's not the only one who went back on his word for more money or better situatons. How about Bill Parcells with the Patriots & Pat Riley with the Knicks. Larry Brown's done it a hundred times. It's not right, but this what these coaches do. |
