Nick Saban's future

ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that Miami Dolphins coach Nick Saban will make a decision about his coaching future on Tuesday. So, will he be staying with the Dolphins, or will he take the job with the Alabama Crimson Tide?

Re: Nick Saban's future

I would like to see Nick Saban stay one more year with the Dolphons. Maybe Alabama should try to puruse Jon Gruden of Tampa Bay or Mike McCarthy of Green Bay instead.

I don't know but I betcha they're watchin the planes coming to and leaving Miami right now. Saban is probably meeting with Bama right now to make the call. I'm pullin' for him to sign on up. Roll Tide!!

$40-50 million over the life of the contract, they're saying. He'd be a fool to pass up that kind of money.

I'll do it for 500k a year!!! Let me in. This money is ridiculous!!!!

By the way fans, we all know the Bear's success was partially due to the fact that we gave scholarships to anyone we didn't want to play at Auburn! Money was a big factor back then before scholarship limitations so why not let it be a big factor in hiring a coach now?

I'm all for it. Money can't buy players or a championships but it sure can get a top notch coach!!!

Wonder if Spurrier is watchin'? "What the hell was I thinkin'?" "Honey, get me Mal's number"!

I agree. These figures are spiraling out of control. This would make Saban far and away the highest paid coach in the NCAA. All I can figure, and no offense to the University of Alabama, is that they must be pretty desperate to get their guy, because Saban's a decent coach, but no way he should be making this much money.

We are desperate!!! I admit it! When you grow up watching Bama you get used to winning. The 80's were painful and outside of Stallings we have had a rough road of it. Now Alabama has one of the best, if not the best, facilities in the NCAA and the upgraded stadium that holds 94,000. 12 National championships and a pile of SEC championships. We're set for the future, we just need some leadership! Oh yeah, Mal Moore gone would be a plus!

Re: Nick Saban's future

Honestly, as a 'fins fan, I wouldn't lose any sleep if he went to 'bama.

I'm of the opinion that, while Saban proved he's a good College coach, he's not cutting it in the pro's. This year was an utter disaster and waste of aging talent for the 'fins.

Best of luck to him, either way.
